Atha Dhyānam
क्षीरोदन्वत्प्रदेशे शुचिमणिविलसत्सैकते मौक्तिकानां
मालाक्लृप्तासनस्थः स्फटिकमणिनिभैर्मौक्तिकैर्मण्डिताङ्गः ।
शुभ्रैरभ्रैरदभ्रैरुपरिविरचितैर्मुक्तपीयूषवर्षैः
आनन्दी नः पुनीयादरिनलिनगदाशङ्खपाणिर्मुकुन्दः ॥१॥
kṣīrodanvatpradeśe śucimaṇivilasatsaikate mauktikānāṃ
mālākḷptāsanasthaḥ sphaṭikamaṇinibhair mauktikair maṇḍitāṅgaḥ,
śubhrair abhrair adabhrair upariviracitair muktapīyūṣavarṣaiḥ
ānandī naḥ punīyād arinalinaagadāśaṅkhapāṇir mukundaḥ. (1)
In the region of the milk-ocean, seated upon a throne fashioned from a garland of pure gems and pearls, His body adorned with crystal-like pearls, amidst white and abundant clouds raining pure nectar from above – may Mukunda, the destroyer of foes, bearing lotus, mace and conch in his hands, fill us with bliss and purify us.
भूः पादौ यस्य नाभिर्वियदसुरनिलश्चन्द्र सूर्यौ च नेत्रे
कर्णावाशाः शिरो द्यौर्मुखमपि दहनो यस्य वासो यमब्धिः ।
अन्तःस्थं यस्य विश्वं सुरनरखगगोभोगिगन्धर्वदैत्यैः
चित्रं रं रम्यते तं त्रिभुवन वपुषं विष्णुमीशं नमामि ॥२॥
bhūḥ pādau yasya nābhir viyad asuranilaś candra sūryau ca netre
karṇāv āśāḥ śiro dyaur mukham api dahano yasya vāso 'mabdhiḥ,
antaḥsthaṃ yasya viśvaṃ suranara khagago bhogi gandharva daityaiḥ,
citraṃ raṃ ramyate taṃ tribhuvana vapuṣaṃ viṣṇum īśaṃ namāmi. (2)
I bow before Viṣṇu, the Lord of three worlds – whose feet are the earth, whose navel is the sky, whose vital breath is the air, whose eyes are the moon and sun, whose ears are the four directions, whose head is the realm of gods, whose mouth is fire, whose garment is the ocean – and within whose belly play and rejoice the gods, men, birds, animals, serpent-beings, Gandharvas and Asuras.
ॐ शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं
विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम् ।
लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यं
वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥३॥
oṃ śāntākāraṃ bhujagaśayanaṃ padmanābhaṃ sureśaṃ
viśvādhāraṃ gaganasadṛśaṃ meghavarṇaṃ śubhāṅgam,
lakṣmīkāntaṃ kamalanayanaṃ yogibhir dhyānagamyaṃ
vande viṣṇuṃ bhavabhayaharaṃ sarvalokaikanātham. (3)
I bow before Viṣṇu – the personification of peace, who sleeps on the coils of the serpent, who has a lotus in his navel, the Lord of gods, the support of the universe, vast as the sky, dark as a raincloud, with beautiful limbs, the beloved of Lakṣmī, with lotus-like eyes, attainable by yogis through meditation, the destroyer of the fear of worldly existence, the sole Lord of all worlds.
मेघश्यामं पीतकौशेयवासं
श्रीवत्साङ्कं कौस्तुभोद्भासिताङ्गम् ।
पुण्योपेतं पुण्डरीकायताक्षं
विष्णुं वन्दे सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥४॥
meghaśyāmaṃ pītakauśeyavāsaṃ
śrīvatsāṅkaṃ kaustubhodbhāsitāṅgam,
puṇyopetaṃ puṇḍarīkāyatākṣaṃ
viṣṇuṃ vande sarvalokaikanātham. (4)
I bow before Viṣṇu, the sole Lord of all the universe – dark as a raincloud, wearing yellow silk, bearing the Śrīvatsa mark, with limbs radiant from the Kaustubha gem, endowed with all auspiciousness, with eyes expansive as a full-blown lotus.
नमः समस्तभूतानामादिभूताय भूभृते ।
अनेकरूपरूपाय विष्णवे प्रभविष्णवे ॥५॥
namaḥ samastabhūtānām ādibhūtāya bhūbhṛte,
anekarūparūpāya viṣṇave prabhaviṣṇave. (5)
Obeisance to Viṣṇu – the primordial source of all beings, the sustainer of the earth, He of manifold forms, the all-powerful originator.
सशङ्खचक्रं सकिरीटकुण्डलं
सपीतवस्त्रं सरसीरुहेक्षणम् ।
सहारवक्षःस्थलशोभिकौस्तुभं
नमामि विष्णुं शिरसा चतुर्भुजम् ॥६॥
saśaṅkhacakraṃ sakirīṭakuṇḍalaṃ
sapītavastraṃ sarasīruhekṣaṇam,
sahāravakṣaḥsthalaśobhikaustubhaṃ
namāmi viṣṇuṃ śirasā caturbhujam. (6)
I bow my head before Viṣṇu – four-armed, bearing conch and discus, wearing crown and earrings, clad in yellow silk, with lotus-like eyes, the Kaustubha gem glowing on his garlanded chest.
छायायां पारिजातस्य हेमसिंहासनोपरि
आसीनमम्बुदश्यामामायताक्षमलंकृतम् ।
चन्द्राननं चतुर्बाहुं श्रीवत्साङ्कित वक्षसम्
रुक्मिणीसत्यभामाभ्यां सहितं कृष्णमाश्रये ॥७॥
chāyāyāṃ pārijātasya hemasiṃhāsanopari
āsīnam ambudaśyāmam āyatākṣam alaṃkṛtam,
candrānanaṃ caturbāhuṃ śrīvatsāṅkita vakṣasam
rukmiṇīsatyabhāmābhyāṃ sahitaṃ kṛṣṇam āśraye. (7)
I seek refuge in Lord Kṛṣṇa – seated on a golden throne in the shade of the Pārijāta tree, dark as a raincloud, with wide eyes, beautifully adorned, with a moon-like face, four arms, and a chest bearing the Śrīvatsa mark – in the company of Rukmiṇī and Satyabhāmā.
